EA: Worst Company In America 2nd Year In A Row

Achievement Unlocked. Consumerist.com voted EA as, for the 2nd year in a row, the worst company in America. It boggles the mind to how this happened….again. EA blames it’s loss (or winning) on homophobes and whiny Madden fans but somehow managed to trump Bank of America, Comcast, and Ticketmaster in the Final Four.

There are 3 core requirements for a consumer-friendly business: provide a product that people want and like, selling that product at a reasonable price, and support the products you sell. EA has continuously failed at all of them.

“Until EA stops sucking the blood out of games in order to make uninspiring sequels, or at least until they begin caring about how much gamers hate their lack of respect for our money and intelligence, this is going to continue,” writes Penny Arcade’s Kuchera. “We don’t hate them because we’re homophobes, we hate them because they destroy companies we love. We hate them because they release poor games. We hate them because they claim our hate doesn’t matter as long as we give them our money.”

I’m not sure whether to blame the consumers for continuously purchasing EA games and other products or blame EA for providing such crappy products and customer service. I guess it is a 2-way-street. Why would they change their policies and prices when their stocks and earnings have never been higher?
